This unique five-star hotel is
situated in the oldest part of Amsterdam and is partly built behind the
restored facades of 19 historic buildings, most of which date from the
17th century, the Dutch Golden Age.
 How
to get there
The BARBIZON PALACE is located in the very heart of
Amsterdam, overlooking Central Station, a stone's throw from the main
entertainment and shopping area as well as from the financial district.
The hotel is within easy reach by train and car. Amsterdam
Airport Schiphol is only 25 minutes away by KLM Hotel Shuttle or by
train (departures every 15 minutes).
Parking your car is no problem; we have our own underground
parking for 26 cars. Another 500 parking places are available at the
nearby Amsterdam Central Parking.
Naturally we are also accessible by water.The hotel has its own
landing stage, where you can board a tour boat, a watertaxi or even a
pedal-boat!
The tour boats, a 'must' for everyone who wants to get to know
Amsterdam, depart from just opposite the hotel.
The interior
Walk inside, and you find luxurious surroundings with
a friendly touch.
The BARBIZON PALACE has 275 rooms, including 6 suites. Many of
the rooms are located in the restored 17th and 18th-century part of the
hotel, with its original oak beams and rafters. Along with individual
air-conditioning, each room has a telephone with a possibility to
connect a computer interface, hair dryer, private safe, trouser press,
writing table, computerized minibar, as well as radio and TV (with
CNN,JSTV, and three in-house movie channels). A number of executive
rooms have an additional phone-jack for modem or fax hook-up.
Conference facilities
The hotel provides facilities for groups up to 250
people.
After a successful restoration the 15th century St. Olofs Chapel
was turned into a unique congress center, which is connected to the
hotel by an underground passageway. Notwithstanding its age, the
congress center features all the modern facilities one requires.
The St. Olofs Chapel is suited for congresses, receptions and
galadinners.
In addition, the hotel has seven conference rooms, including the
Board Room, decorated in I7th century style, and the Henry Hudson Club
for small meetings and private cocktail parties.
There are also five luxury meeting rooms available for up to 18
persons.
Restaurants and bars
A drink in the traditional Dutch 'brown café' or
sitting by the fire in the elegant cocktail lounge, will make your
evening complete.
In the spacious marble lobby is the informal "Hudson's Terrace en
Restaurant", where you can enjoy breakfast, tasty snacks, daily specials
or just a cup of coffee.
Concierge Service
Our concierge and his professional team take great
pleasure in arranging your airline ticket and sight-seeing tour, as well
as in any other assistance or information you might require.
Sport
and Recreation
The Fitness and Health Club is complete with
sauna,Turkish bath, and fitness classes. Furthermore a beauty salon and
a hairdresser are at your disposal.
Security
There is a security officer on duty 24 hours a day.
Business Center
The Business Center, with facilities such as personal
computer, fax machine and photocopier, is not only suitable for
exclusive use during congresses, but the individual guest can also take
advantage of it.
